A little education about Israel's military,the IDF.
Many people do not have a clue what the IDF really stands for,
and how it came to be,and how it operates,
and what its difference is with terrorists.
Most of the people having an specific opinion on the IDF,
have a very biased source of information.
This blog page is menth to give a little education on the other side of the story,
wich most people never get to hear or read about due to the one-sided media in their country.

The IDF (צבא הגנה לישראל) was founded on the 26th of May in 1948 after the independency of the Jewish state Israel.
The purpose of the IDF was to protect all civilians of the Jewish state of Israel and to fight all forms of terrorism that endangers and threatens everyday life in Israel.
The IDF is actually the succesor of the paramilitary organisation 'Hagana',as permanent army of the state Israel.
Some parts of the former Jewish brigade also joined the IDF.
In world war 2 the Jewish brigade fought under Britisch mandate.
After the foundation of the IDF (Tseva Hagana Lejisraël) two underground Jewish organisations
made an loose alliance with the IDF.
They where called: Etsel and Lechi.
Untill the end of the independency-war (1948) these 2 underground organisations where permitted to operate independently from the IDF.
After that,its members became part of and joined the IDF.
Obligatory military service.
Women in the IDF.
"The Army is the supreme symbol of duty, and as long as women are not equal to men in performing this duty, they have not yet obtained true equality. If the daughters of Israel are absent from the army, then the character of the Yishuv (Jewish community in Israel) will be distorted.

The IDF is unique in such a way that military services is compulsory for both males and females.
It is the only country in the world that obligates women to serve the army.
During Israel's War of Independence women were on full combat status and served in very important
combat positions.
After the war,they where no longer allowed in these positions but they continued to serve as trainers,
and proved to be a valuble source of training manpower.
Since the late 1990's they where being re-absorbed into the combat postions.
Males serve in the IDF for three years and females for two years.
Israel also has one of the highest recruitment rates in the world -
some 80% of those who receive summons actually serve.
Exceptions.
Those who are excluded from compulsory militairy service are mostly minority groups.women with children,pregnant women,married women,those who aren't physically and psychologically fit,
or religous women who choose for national community service instead of serving the army.
And also religious men who are studying in an accredited Jewish Law institution.
Contrast.
The Israeli army can -just like the state of Israel itself- best be described by its contrasts,
There is a big contrast between the current IDF,
and the IDF during the fight for Jewish independence in the Land of Israel in the 1940's.
Today the IDF is a highly sophisticated,well paid military,with lots of technological advantages.
But it hasn't always been like this.
In the beginning days of the IDF they where short of everything.
Including the ability to pay the wages of their soldiers.
Up until the 1950s, even senior commanders mostly earned no wage, were in their early twenties and even lived by growing their own food.
On the one hand, the IDF is now considered one of the world's most professional, elite and effective fighting forces. Its air force, Special Forces, intelligence and engineering units have pioneered and executed novel and innovative campaigns that are studied by military tacticians all over the world.
On the other hand, it is also one of the world's most informal and least hierarchical armies. Officers often sleep and eat with their soldiers and the army makes scant use of saluting and parades.
On the one hand it is one of the most hated army in the world,
while on the other hand it is the most respected army in the world.
On the one hand the IDF is portrayed as a reckless and evil military,
while on the other hand IDF is actually known for warning the civilians in all kinds of ways,
before attacking a terrorist leader.
On the one hand the IDF is portrayed as a though and war enjoying army,
while on the other hand it is known for being involved in many humanitarian missions.
On the one hand its relativly a very small army,wich easily can be outnumbered by the surrounding hostile arab armies,
while on the other hand,the IDF is the most feared army of the surrounding arab nations.
Purpose of the IDF.

The purpose of the IDF is to protect the civilians of the Jewish state Israel,against all inbound dangers.
From the day Israel was a state again,it was forced to protect its civilians against incoming threads coming from all sides.The Arab nations surrounding Israel,joined forces to try to erase Israel off the map,from the day Israel existed.
Israel was in war from the day it existed.
So its no wonder that the state of Israel had to form a defense force against all incoming threads.
And surrounding armies engaging in war with Israel wasn't the only problem the IDF had to deal with.
Another incoming thread the defense force of Israel had to deal with where the islamic suicide bombers who specificly targret the civilians of the state of Israel.
It is no wonder the IDF has to respond against such a horrific thread.
What country,and its army wouldn't defend itself against such a thread?
Not to mention all of the incoming rockets,coming from Gaza,Judea and Samariah.
Wich specificly targret the civilians of Israel.
No wonder the IDF has to take action and has to do something against all of the incoming threads to protect the civilians of Israel.
And like any war,civilian casualties sadly do happen.
But in any liberation or defensive war,
civilians are not the targrets.
In the 2nd world war the allied forces did cause a lot of casualties amongst the very people they eventually liberated.
But if that had prevent them from taking on nazi-Germany,
we proberly would all have spoken German by now.

Unlike the islamic terrorists of hamas,hezbollah and more of such,wich targret the civilians of Israel,
the IDF actually tries to prevent as much as they can,
the civilian casualties,and only targret the real terrorists.

But back to the purpose of the IDF.
So its purpose is to protect the civilians of the state Israel,and defend them against all sorts of incoming threads.
Their purpose is not to hide behind women an children in the hopes that the enemy will kill their own women and children.
It is their purpose to actually protect and defend their women and children in the hopes that not even one of them will get killed by incoming threads.
The IDF doesn't use women and children as their shield to protect themself,
the IDF actually serves as a shield itself to protect their women and children.
The IDF and the West.
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Sadly,the Western media doesn't see the difference.
According to most Western media it is actually a bad thing to try to protect yourself against terrorists and other incoming threads,and a good thing to send in suicide bombers to targret innocent civilians.
Aparently it is a good thing to use innocent woman and children as a shield.
Aparently there is no UN-law wich disaproves this sort of war tactics.
But enough about the politics for now.
Besides protecting,defending,and avoiding civilian casualties as much as possible,
the IDF serves also other purposes.
Besides an important role in education,it also plays a big role in humantarian aid abroad,
especially for such a small country wich really needs its army to defend the population against daily incoming threads.

And by chance a certain priest was going down that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.And in like manner a Levite also, when he came to the place, and saw him, passed by on the other side.
But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was:

The Western media will never show you the humantarian aid the IDF is actually responsible for.
Over the years, the IDF sent 15 aid delegations to over 14 countries struck by natural disasters, where IDF doctors set up field hospitals and immediately began their rescue efforts. Overall, medical care was given to more than 2,300 people in afflicted areas, and 220 were saved from certain death.
Most of the delegations were staffed with reserve soldiers from the Home Front command Search and Rescue unit and IDF physicians, who established field hospitals upon arrival. All Israeli delegations partnered with local and foreign aid teams in their effort to save lives.
Examples.
#Japan.
In 2010, an IDF delegation was sent to Japan in order to aid local Japanese forces in dealing with the aftermath of the tsunami. The delegation consisted of 60 soldiers and commanders from the Medical Corps, Home Front Command, Logistics Branch and experts on radiation.
#Haiti.
98 hours after the deadly earthquake in Haiti, the IDF had already built a field hospital at the scene. In addition to assisting rescue efforts, the IDF delegation set up a “war room” which prioritized calls for help. Thus, a man who had been trapped under rubble for 125 hours got in touch with IDF soldiers through text messaging, and was subsequently rescued in eight hours.
In the two weeks in which it was operating, the field hospital treated a total of over 1,000 injured people, performed 314 surgeries and delivered 16 babies. When the crew left, the soldiers left the equipment that they brought with them for the use of the survivors.
#Turkey.
In 1999, an earthquake struck northwestern Turkey. An Israeli delegation, comprised of IDF Home Front Command soldiers, was deployed to assist the rescue, eventually growing to two more delegations and a field hospital. Many civilians were trapped under the rubble, including Israelis. Among those trapped was the Franco family.
Within 36 hours, the IDF rescue team managed to release Iris Franco, the mother of the family. However, the rest of the family was still trapped. The team kept digging for 96 hours until they found the nine-year-old daughter, Shiran Franco, dehydrated and buried beneath the ruins. The rest of the family did not survive.
In total, the IDF delegation rescued 12 survivors and recovered 140 bodies. The IDF field hospital treated 1,200 people, performed 40 surgeries and delivered 15 babies.
#Entebbe.
And what about the astonishing rescue mission of the hostages being held on board of the Air France plane by the 'Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine' and the German 'Revolutionary Cells'.
I will not go deeper into this one.
This one is actually widly know,everybody knows about the rescue mission in Entebbe.
The IDF made real history there.
#And more.
And there are many more examples wich Western media will try not to tell you about.
Like Colombia,Ethiopia,Kenya,Ghana,Macedonia-Kosovo,Sri lanka,India.
And even Gaza has received lots of humanitarian aid in all sorts of ways,wich again,Western media usually will never tell you about.They only show you one side of the coin,and only trough their glasses.
But they will never show you the other side of the coin,and without their glasses.
IDF reserve forces.
Those who are sure of themselves do not talk all the time. People who stay calm have real insight.
-Proverbs 17,27-
Israel's relative small population means the state of Israel has never had the security of a large standing army,even though they really need such a army due to all the incoming threads it has to deal with.
And thats where the reserve army comes in.
Soldiers that are released from duty still continue serving the IDF as reservists up to their early 50's.
The reservists serve as a strong backbone for the main army.
It is not rare in Israel for two generations to be serving simultaneously in the army:
the son in the obligatory service and the father in the reserves.
The system of reserves frees up the vast majority of its soldiers to take an active part in society and the economy.
At the same time, the army is able to mobilize hundreds of thousands of reserves within hours and the full strength of the army within 48 hours.
The good thing about the reserve system is its army has officers and soldiers with considerable life experience and managerial expertise.
In general they are more mature and are to be expected to handle a situation much more diplomatically and calmly.
Ethical standards.
If you make fun of poor people, you insult the God who made them. You will be punished if you take pleasure in someone's misfortune.
-Proverbs 17,5-
Israel,and therefor also its army the IDF,
has as a basic principle that weapons and force can only be used for the purpose of a military operation and not to harm human beings who are non-combatants or who are prisoners of war.
This means the IDF and its soldiers are to avoid damage to human life,property and dignity at all cost.
Soldiers are to show respect for the beliefs, values and historical sites of all civilians and military personnel.
In cases where soldiers have engaged in unethical activities, such as looting or using excessive force (as has happened in isolated and rare circumstances in clashes with Palestinians),
they are tried and sentenced. If a commander is accused of violence he can be instantaneously removed from his command.
Imagine.
Condemning the innocent or letting the wicked go—both are hateful to the Lord.
-Proverbs 17,15-
Can you imagine what it is like for a state to live under the constant thread of incoming missiles specificly targreted at populated areas,while even at the same time having to worry about surrounding hostile countries and its armies?
Can you imagine what it feels like for a very tiny country to be completly surrounded by huge and very hostile countries?
Do you know what it is like for a state and its military to be continuously accused of the most worst war crimes,
while in fact the state and its army does its very best -and pretty succesfull too compared to many other countries- to avoid all collateral damage?
Continuously the IDF is portrayed as the evil bad guy,
while terrorists who use innocent women and children of their own people to act as their shields are being portrayed as the heroes.
What a twisted world are we living in?
As Proverbs 17,4 states:
Those who listen to other peoples lies,are liars themself.
The constant thread of incoming missiles.
Fear and masks.During world war 2,
the people in Europe where afraid of the opressing nazies.
However,if you live in such conditions for years,
then you will get used to it.
Your behavior will look less fearfull eventually,
even making jokes about the horrible situation.
When you are daily under attack by incoming missiles,
at first you will fear it,
but eventually,after living for years in such conditions,
you will get used to the idea.
Not everybody responds in the same way.
Some people show their fear,even after years in such conditions,
while others hide behind a mask seemingly showing the exact opposite.
Of course,as an soldier,
you usually respond less fearfull to extreme situations.
And since around 80% of Israel serves and/or has served in the IDF,
you can expect them to not show all their fear in stressfull situations.
Also,fear can change into being very excited,
especially when you realize that 90% of the incoming projectiles aimed at you,
are being blocked from even hitting ground.
I can only imagine,how exciting it really is to see the 'Iron dome' live in action,
blocking 90% of the incoming missiles.
It proberly is even much more exciting if you are used of a time where this wasn't the case and a lot of such missiles did hit ground and hit targret.
How would you respond?
But how would you react?
Especially if you are not used to live under such circumstances for years.
Especially if you are not a soldier,and not have been a soldier either.
How would you react then?
How would you react if you would experience for the first time in your live,
that your city is under attack by a massive amount of inbound misssiles?
How would you react to the sirens and the loud explosions all,around you?
Especially if you don't have a system wich blocks out 90% of the incoming projectiles,
then how would you react?
I live in the Netherlands,
and I wonder how I,or how my fellow countrymen,or how the goverment of the Netherlands would respond,
if there where continuously rockets incoming,for year after year,being fired from populated places in Germany and Belgium,aimed at populated places in the Netherlands.
How would the Dutch goverment respond to that?
How would a Dutch civilian respond to that?
Can they even imagine such situation?
I am sure the few seniors who may still be alive,and who experienced ww2,
can have a pretty good idea what that situation must feel like.
But I don't think most Dutch civilians,and the goverment,can even begin to image what that is like.
Especially since our media never shows the side of Israel.
We never get to see the video footage on the news of the incoming missiles and sirens when the terrorists aim for the Israeli civilians again.
We only get to see the Palestinian side of the story,trough someone else's glasses.
But we never get to see the other side of the coin,without someone else's glasses.
Just to give the reader an idea of what its like,
I'd like to share some video's of such situations.
And when watching this,ask yourself:
How would I respond if I was there?
Especially when you would experience it the first time,without any experience in the army.
And to make it even worse,how would you respond if there wasn't a genius Iron dome system covering your back?
You see,the Iron dome system hasn't always been around in Israel.
Imagine what it would be like in Israel,some years back in time,
when the Iron dome system wasn't there to shoot 90% of the incoming missiles down.
Of course I could give a long liste here of youtube videos wich show the danger Israel really is in.
But I think this is already enough for someone with common sense to realize the danger here.
You don't need a highly trained and excorsized,and supernatural spider-sense to realize that
tons of incoming missiles targreting you is a bad and dangerous thing.
You really don't need to be a Jew or Christian to realize in what position the people of this relatively tiny country in the Middle-East,completly surrounded by huge hostile countries,is in.
You don't need to have studied rocket science to see what enemies the IDF has to deal with,
on a daily base,year in,year out.
The UN.

And where is the UN in all of this?
Where is the justice of the UN in all of this?
They are too busy thinking of another resolution against Israel,
while completely ignoring the real bad guys here.
And isn't there an international law of war or something that condemns using innocent women and children as human shields?
Then why does the UN always remain silence about hezbollah and hamas?
Then why doesn't the UN go after Nasralah?
Isn't that what the UN is supposed to do?
You know,go after the bad guys?
Where is their resolution against Nasralah and hezbollah and hamas?
And if they already have such a resolution then why not acting upon it,
like a real international peacekeeping organisation should be doing,
instead of brainstorming on what they can accuse Israel this time of?
How the IDF tries to avoid civilian casualties.
Although the one-sided media will never tell you this,
the IDF really does try to avoid civilian casualties as much as they can.
But if one always listens and reads the one sided media,always looking trough someone else's glasses,
then one will never be able to form an honest opinion about the IDF based on both sides of the story.
Ruining the element of surprise.
What other country will ruin the element of surprise when engaging an enemy,
in order to prevent and minimalize collateral damage?
What other country tries to prevent collateral damage in so many different ways in order to protect
the civilians that are near a targret?
Let me give you some good examples on how the IDF tries to prevent that innocent bystanders get hurt.
Things,you will ever hear about in the one sided media,wich includes the Western media.
Some of the Western media will tell you a little or few about this.
But I can asure you that in my country,the Netherlands,you will very rarely get to hear about this.
In my country they bombard you with messages of the palestinian side of the story,while leaving out the Israeli side of the story as much as they can.
Here's some of the things our one sided media very rarely tells you about.
#Phone calls.
Many phone calls have been made to Palestinian residents in order to warn them for the coming IDF strikes in the area,wich ruins totally Israel's element of surprise towards the enemy.
#leaflets.
Israels Airforce drops leaflets written in Arabic,over Gaza that warns civilians not to be in the surroundings of a hamas-operative.
The leaflets read:
For your own safety, take responsibility for yourselves and avoid being present in the vicinity of Hamas operatives and facilities and those of other terror organizations that pose a risk to your safety. Hamas is once again dragging the region to violence and bloodshed.
#Diverting missiles in mid-flight.
During Operation Cast Lead in 2008-09, the IDF aborted many missions seconds before they were to be carried out, due to civilians being present at the site of the target. The following video is an example of an IAF airstrike that was called off as the missile was on its way to the target.
#Roof Knocking.
“Roof knocking” is when the IAF targets a building with a loud but non-lethal bomb that warns civilians that they are in the vicinity of a weapons cache or other target. This method is used to allow all residents to leave the area before the IDF targets the site with live ammunition.
#Pinpoint Targeting.
The IDF, whenever possible, singles out terrorists and targets them in a way that will endanger few or no bystanders. This can often be hard to do, since terrorists prefer to hide in crowded areas. Watch the pinpoint strike on Hamas leader Ahmed Jabari:
Dispite all of this effort of the IDF to avoid civilian casualties,
civilian casualties can,and do still happen.
But what other country,what other army,and what terrorist ('liberation'/ 'resistance' ) group spends so much effort in warning innocent civilians before they command an operation?
Do hamas leaders warn the civilian population before they shoot their missiles?Or the hezbollah leaders?
Do they make phonecalls to Israeli residents to warn them?
Are they shooting dummy rockets first,before they shoot the real thing,just to warn the Israeli residents?
Do these 'resistance' movements care so much about the innocent Israeli residents that they are willing to ruin the element of surprise by warning them before attacking?
Not even the allied forces in world war 2 made such an effort in warning the civilians before attacking.Not a single Arab nation makes such an effort in warning civilians prior to their operation.
And most Western countries don't bother to make this effort of warning civilians prior to the attack on the enemy either.
Yet Israel is one of the countries,or even the country with the most UN-resolutions against it.
What are they thinking there at the UN?
Did hamas or hezbollah infiltrate the UN or what?
Most of these UN-resolutions are totally ungrounded.
In fact,the IDF is one of the few,or maybe even the only army wich puts such a strong effort in warning civilians prior to an attack.
What other army or 'resistance'-movement would do that,and ruin the element of surprise by doing so?
The IDF should actually be considered a role model for all the other armies.
The IDF is in such a difficult position,most countries and their armies can't even begin to imagine how difficult it really is to deal with such situations,for that tiny state surrounded by huge hostile states.
And even though it is already hard enough to deal with such a huge thread as such a tiny state completely surrounded by enemies,they still make every effort possible to try to avoid civilian casualties,and ruin the element of surprise by doing so.

I hope the reader will actually use his or hers brain next time,before pointing at the Israel's IDF all the time.

and even though we have lots and lots of arabs living in our country...

that they stand with Israel.
And they aren't even all Christians or Jews.
You see,you don't have to be a Christian or a Jew to realize that the world,including the UN,
is trying to make the innocent look guilty and trying to make the guilty look innocent.
All it takes is some common sense and the will to listen to the other side of the story.

but I just wanted to show the reader here,trough the following few videos, that not complete Holland is a nazi-state.
There is still a decent quantity of Dutch people who distant themselfes of all the nazi propaganda going on lately.
Not everybody here is an anti-semite.
Our country already has,in international eyes,a very bad name.
We already have a pedophile-status labeled,and for good reason too.
I am not going to go too deep in this subject,
but it was up till very recently that we still had a secretary-general of justice (Joris Demmink),wich basicly is the boss of justice,
that was seriously accused of multiple moral crimes.
It was a very pain staking process to get him for a trial,and still justice wasn't served.
Cause our whole system and not just the secretery-general alone is corrupt.
Politicians,directors,lawyers,judges,even bureau child protection are cooperating with these corrupt powers that be.
So its bad enough that the Netherlands already has a pedophile name internationaly thanks to these kind of people.
We already are a joke as a country internationally speaking,
since our country just let somebody who is accused of being a pedohile,
run our justice departement.
But not only our country has a pedophile label,
but it is also known for some of the biggest anti-semites known around the world.
I already mentioned the father of queen Beatrice,wich not only is the founder of the nwo-Bilderberg group,
but he was also an ss-member back in those days.
I could mention a bunch of other known Dutch people,

The Israeli's are not the ones who thrive so much on hate.
Don't take that bait,
Israel is fueled by faith.
It is a tiny country in the Middle-east,
and where one day the temple will be of the beast.
But even though they may look like a sitting duck,
with a whole bunch of luck,
in reality it is their solid rock,
who pushes them forward when they are completely stuck.
They don't have a secret fortune wheel.
It is givin to them,that dome of steel.
by the God of Israel who is very real.
And one day al nations will bow for Him and kneel.
What is His,nobody can steal.
It is Gods hand,
who has this state in His hand.
Don't step on Gods tail.
Anyone that tries to steal what is His,will fail.
When He returns on the olive mount,all nations will turn pale.
It is predicted in a centuries old bible tale.
Stop messing around,
Gods angels are airborne and inbound.
God had put on the land of Israel a curse.
But for the enemies of Gods people it will be a lot worse.
God remembers the promises He made.
Out of His mouth will come a sharp two edged blade.
When He is really fed up with all the hate an speaks His words,
His enemies will be fed to the wild animals and the birds.
Those that belong to Him He will bless.
But not the ones that made an awefull mess,
and had all this time refused to confess.
There will be no save haven to run.
Surrender yourself to the Father and the Son,
before this world is completely done.
I know the Jewish people aren't Jesus' biggest fan,BUT:
When the Romans came to capture Yeshua Hamashiach and asked where He was,
Jesus said: 'I AM'.
Lord Jesus was no nerd,
He is the living word.
People don't understand what is about all the fuss.
But the living word lived with and died for us.
He broke the ice,
by making the ultimate sacrifise.
His blood was all we need.
Our eternal Father gave for us His own flesh and meat.
The ultimate act of compassion and love.
Sacrifised for us as an innocent dove.
He is the Judah lion,
and He roars from Zion.
Living water and bread,
is our ressurected good Lord,
Yeshua Hamashiach from Nazareth.
Some people have no clue,
but Jesus of Nazareth was a Jew,
who came to our rescue.
If only both the muslims and the jews would knew,
that the almighty God of Israel and Jerusalem,
is Jesus Christ the Jew.
There is no other,
don't believe the lies about the 'earth mother'.
Have in Him your faith,
before it is too late.
And stop your hate,
against Gods state.
Stop biting the devils bait.
Your eternal live is at stake.
For your own sake,
give your live to Him who walked the Galilee lake.
